What this policy covers

This policy explains what information KDP Toolkit handles when you use this website or buy Pro, and what we do with it. KDP Toolkit is a product ofDesignOpx (“we”, “us”), a sole trader business based in Sri Lanka, which is responsible for the information described here. Questions go through the contact page.

Your book details and files

Every tool on this site runs inside your web browser, on your own device. The book size, page count, paper type and any other details you enter are used only on your device to work out sizes and draw templates. Templates you download are made on your device too. None of this is sent to us or to anyone else.

The tools that work with your files work the same way. The checkers read the file you choose, the cover fixer makes its fixed copy, the 3D mockup draws your book, and approval reports and pictures are made, all in your browser. Your files are never uploaded, and the files these tools make are saved straight to your own device.

Information saved on your device

To save you typing, the site remembers some choices in your browser’s local storage:

• Cover and bleed tools: book size, page count, paper type, units and PNG background.
• Margins and interior template tools: book size, page count, bleed choice and units.
• Cover fixer: whether new bleed mirrors or stretches the edges.
• Pro: your license key, once you enter one.
• Checkers and cover fixer: how many free full checks you have used today, so the daily limit works.
• Light or dark mode, if you picked one.

This stays in your browser and is never sent to us. You can remove it at any time by clearing this site’s data in your browser settings. The tools still work if your browser blocks local storage; they just won’t remember your choices.

Cookies and visitor statistics

We don’t use cookies, advertising or tracking across other websites, and we don’t sell or share personal information. Fonts and the tools themselves are served from our own site.

To see which pages are useful, we use Cloudflare Web Analytics. It counts visits without cookies and without identifying you: it records things like the page viewed, the site you came from, your browser type, your country and how fast the page loaded. Your files and book details are never part of it, because they never leave your browser. Cloudflare handles this data under its own privacy policy.

Hosting

The site is hosted by Cloudflare. Like any web host, Cloudflare processes basic technical information needed to deliver pages and protect the site from attacks, such as your IP address, browser type and the page requested. Cloudflare handles this under its own privacy policy, linked above.

If you contact us

If you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you write. We use it only to reply and to fix the problem you report, and we delete messages we no longer need.

Buying Pro

Pro is coming soon. When you buy it, the checkout is run by Paddle.com, our online reseller and Merchant of Record. Paddle collects what it needs to take the payment and meet tax law: your name, email address, country and postcode, your payment details and, if you give one, your VAT number. Paddle handles this under its own privacy policy. We never see or store your card details.

Paddle shares with us what we need to give you Pro and help you with it:

• your name and email address;
• your country;
• what you bought, when, and whether your subscription is active, cancelled or refunded.

We use this only to send and check your license key, answer your questions and handle refunds. We keep it while you have Pro and for as long as tax and accounting law requires afterwards, then delete it. We don’t use it for marketing unless you ask to hear from us.

Your license key

When you enter your license key, it is saved in your browser’s local storage so Pro stays on. To check that the key is valid, the site sends the key to our server (run on Cloudflare), which asks Paddle whether the purchase is active. Like any web request, this includes your IP address. We use it only to check the key and to stop one key being shared widely, and we don’t keep it longer than needed for that. Your files and book details are never part of this check.

Children

The site is meant for adults who publish books. It is not aimed at children, and we don’t knowingly collect information from them.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, correct it, delete it, or get a copy of it. Because we don’t keep personal information from the tools, there is usually little to show: mainly any emails you sent us and, if you bought Pro, the purchase details above. Information we must keep for tax or accounting is deleted when that period ends. To ask, or with any question about your privacy, contact us. You can also complain to the data protection authority where you live.

Who else handles your information

• Cloudflare, which hosts the site, counts visits and runs the license key check.
• Paddle, which runs checkout, payments, invoices and refunds for Pro.

Both may process information outside your country, under their own safeguards for international transfers. We don’t sell personal information, and we don’t share it with anyone else unless the law requires it.

Changes to this policy

If we change how the site handles information, we will update this page and the date at the top.
